I just want to remind everybody that De’Aaron Fox had negative win-shares last season. If you’re new to my channel, you should get used to my obsession with win-shares (since they almost always correspond perfectly with my gut feeling about a player), and if you’re a DTB old-timer, I’m sorry that you have to listen to me rant about win-shares. But back to Fox and his negative win-shares. They were negative. Below zero. He took away wins from his team. Not only that, but the “briefly glance at shooting percentages and form an unchangeable opinion” test also indicate that Fox wasn’t a good player last season.
But it’s not last season anymore. It’s this season, and the Kings have some vibrant new personnel to help Fox shine. Iman Shumpert, Yogi Ferrell, Ben McLemore, and Marvin Bagley are all sure to provide easy targets for Fox’s precision passes. Add to that Fox’s development over the summer (which I’m assuming happened; do we have any sweaty summer workout videos to prove it?), and I can totally see Fox’s win-shares being above 0.000 this season.
