I absolutely wasn’t going to make a video for Jeff Green when I first looked at the box-score. “No way, seventeen is absolutely not enough points for a player of Green’s caliber,” I said to myself while absentmindedly scratching certain “private” areas of my anatomy. Then I woke up this morning literally a changed man. With the addition of one day to my age, I gained wisdom that was sufficient to make Jeff Green highlights seem like a good idea.
Here’s a sample of some of my reasoning:
-He scored more than 17 points just ten times last season (plus once in the playoffs)
-He’s making his debut for yet another new team (never mind that the Wizards have no fans and thus there is nobody out there who cares that he’s debuting for the Wizards)
-There’s not many other videos to make on a night with only three games
-Whatever “caliber” of player I thought Jeff Green was, he’s probably below it, and maybe way below it depending on how much he declined in the off-season
-I didn’t build this fancy computer optimized for highlight-making so it can sit around and not help me make highlights
So there you go. That’s why you get to watch Jeff Green highlights this morning. I feel like I should apologize about it, but I won’t. Okay, maybe I will.
