Sometimes I wonder if Nikola Jokic is as enamored with pre-packaged microwaveable frozen foods as I am. He definitely has the outward appearances of somebody who would be a connoisseur of Hot Pockets, Totino’s Pizza Rolls, TGI Friday’s Mozzarella Sticks, and other delicacies of that nature.
I mean, we already know that, as a teenager, he had a poor diet. He drank too much soda and probably ate too much junk food. It’s not a stretch to think that the wide variety of unhealthy food in the freezer aisles of American supermarkets would be tempting to him. And even if the Nuggets training staff has him on some kind of meal plan to keep his flabby-wabby under control, they wouldn’t be able to stop him from bingeing on Bagel Bites and Loaded Doritos in the comfort of his own home. A man’s gotta eat, and if he’s only getting salads with grilled chicken breast, he’s gonna raid the grocery store at two in the morning for the greasiest and saltiest foods they have.
I’m curious: does Serbia even have Hot Pockets (crude translation: врући џеп)? Or do they have some Balkan equivalent that is more in line with Serbian taste buds? If DTB ever makes it to Serbia, the first thing he’s doing is going to the grocery store and buying every frozen food they have, even if he can’t read any of the labels or microwave instructions.
