Unlike a lot of people, I’m not finding it especially jarring to see Tony Parker in something other than a Spurs jersey. To be honest, I was never that big on the Spurs, or Tony Parker, because they/he were too good and I really prefer the middling teams over the championship contenders. My nascent NBA memories were not of the Spurs winning chips while iconic commentators… commentated. They were of crappy regular season Bucks games.
I’ve done TP highlights in the past, back when he was better, and I’m sorry for that. But now he’s definitely nearing the end of his career, did he say he was going to retire after this stint with the Hornets? Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t, but him leaving the Spurs is definitely an admission that his time is coming to an end. So he’s eligible. Along with all the other greats of his era, basically.
The Hornets have a pretty good starter in Kemba Walker (I’m downplaying how good he is for effect), but Parker can be a nice backup, the vetty kind of backup who plays within himself or whatever and makes his teammates better. Or something. At least, he can give Malik Monk valuable tips on how to bang his teammates’ wives.
