D’Angelo Russell 25 Points/6 Assists Full Highlights (10/28/2018)

I’m starting to think that this 15 points/5 assists version of D’Angelo Russell is the last version we’re going to get. He’s been practically the same player since his second year in the league, the same kind-of-okay starting PG whose most lasting accomplishment is saying “he ain’t even stretch doe”. I guess he makes some really nice passes sometimes. That’s the best thing about his game, except that it seems like for every one of those passes that connects he turns it over trying to do the same.

This year, he’s way more efficient from three while being way worse from two, which bumps his true shooting percentage up a bit from before. Great! His assists are also up a little bit! Not up enough to think that we’re ever going to see him reach his full potential, whatever that was (maybe this is it, horrifying).

Good on him for going toe-to-toe with Stephen Curry and nearly getting his team the comeback W. The Nets are playing the right way this year, with a bunch of good role-players doing roley-playery things. It’s been fun bashing on that franchise for years now, but there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. The radiant glow of the much-coveted 8th seed.
