The Pacers are going to need to get the most out of all their high-class role-player talent if they want to stick in the top 4 of the East and gain whatever playoff advantage that conveys them. Victor Oladipo may have been a little overrated (and getting even more so now that he’s dead), but it’s hard to lose a talent like that without any drop off. Which is why it’s important that Thaddeus Young do stuff like this, if not every night, at least every other night. Bojan Bogdanovic has already been stepping up. Cory Joseph? I don’t even know.
Young has been a high-class role-player for his whole career, so this should be nothing new for him. He’s just so solid. So solidly solid. Solidity and solidness are his middle names (yeah, he has two, deal with it). He still can’t shoot threes, but you know what he can do? Make weird little shots in the paint. And that’s almost as good. Maybe better than threes, actually.
He had a great game against the Wizards, scoring efficiently with some good volume in the first half. He was the recipient of a nice nutmeg (why do they even call it that?) pass from Bogdanovic which was maybe the highlight of the whole highlights. I guess that’s why no one wants to watch this guy’s vids, because the best part of them isn’t even his doing.
