Well, the Knicks won this game, which means they are OFFICIALLY on their second winning streak of the season. That’s good news for fans who watch Knicks games hoping for well-played basketball resulting in a W, but bad news for fans who want to tank so that KD and Kyrie have a budding superstar to play with when they sign in free-agency this summer.
Emmanuel Mudiay took a number of tough shots in this one, showing his pro-tank leanings, but also made too many shots, which showed a blatant disregard for the integrity of the tank. He should have taken some cues from Kevin Knox, who was 3-of-16 from the field. That’s the kind of statline that screams “we’re developing this young player so well that we don’t care what he actually does on the court”. Mudiay could easily put up a shooting performance like that and then the Knicks wouldn’t have had to worry about this pesky win cluttering up their long, mostly-unbroken series of L’s this season.
There is some damage to be undone here, and I’m sure Mudiay can be the one to undo it as long as he puts his mind to it.
