Myles Turner 22 Points Full Highlights (3/7/2019)

If we could somehow transplant Myles “Elston” Turner’s jumpshot into Giannis Antetokounmpo, that would be it for the league. There would be no stopping him, so I guess it’s good that the technology for jumper transplants is probably a few deacdes away at this point.

Even so, the existence of a fellow bigman with such a smooth jumper as Turner should be a good sign for Giannis eventually developing one, right? Theoretically, except that Turner has had his smooth jumper for as long as I can remember, and probably didn’t have to work too hard to develop it. I mean, he did, but some people’s natural shooting motions (speaking of “natural shooting motions”, does Draymond Green kick people in the balls anymore?????) are just better than others. And only intense shot doctoring will change people’s natural tendencies. In any case, I know who Giannis should be working out with over the summer, and it’s not Hakeem or LeBron of Scalabrine. While they’re at it, Turner can also teach Giannis how to have hair that looks like a pineapple.

Similarly, if we could somehow transplant Giannis’ ball-handling/spin-move ability into Turner, he would become even more of a beast than he already is. Right now he’s limited mostly to nailing pick-and-pop jumpers and other stuff that involves him getting the ball from his teammates. He’s not taking people one-on-one, and that’s limiting his potential from “MVP candidate” to “DPOY candidate”. Defense is cool, but it becomes cooler when you can also dunk the ball whenever you want because no one stop you from getting to the rim.
