Before you get all hyped, know that Tyler Herro only scored this many points because the undisciplined Hawks fouled him FOUR separate times while he was shooting a three. I know you were thinking about getting all hyped, and to be honest I was too even after I saw how many free throws he took, but please, save your hype for a more hype-worthy occasion.
Fine, I’ll let you get a little hyped, on account of his 19-point second quarter. But only a little, you hear me? We can’t have you running around here freaking out like he just hit a game-winner in game seven of the 2020 Finals to give him 101 points, simultaneously breaking Wilt’s record and the hearts of all the Timberwolves fans in attendance.
I’m happy to see that Jimmy Butler’s return didn’t affect Herro’s playing time much. I’m less happy to see that Duncan Robinson was rudely divested of basically all his minutes even though he scored 21 points last game. And if Dion Waiters comes back and takes even a single, solitary minute out of Herro’s supple yet powerful hands, I’m going to get even lass happy. Mad, even.
