It’s fashionable to dump on Kawhi Leonard right now. Commentators from all around the internet are glorying in his partial (and probably temporary) demise, with his team not performing to expectations and his load being heavily managed. Jae Crowder must have seen that and wanted to get in on the action, because he dumped ALL OVER Kawhi tonight. Not in the form of snarky internet comments, but in the form of pure domination on the hardwood.
This, no lie, might be the defining performance of Crowder’s career to this point. An excellent performance on both ends of the floor, with him showing his abilities in all facets of the game (except dunking). It would have been even better, but when he hit his final three to give himself 27 points and his team a 24-point lead, and he heard the boos reigning down from the stands, he decided enough was enough. A true gentleman knows when his opponent is defeated and humiliated, and ceases the butt-whooping.
