Juan Hernangomez 17 Points Full Highlights (2/26/2020)

Just like his ex-Nugget teammate Malik Beasley, Juan Hernangomez is currently playing for another NBA contract. Unlike Beasley, however, there was no guarantee going into this season that another contract was coming Hernangomez’s way. He played decently in Denver, but he rarely got big minutes and he was not the most consistent shooter. His level of production could have been replaced by any other jumpshooting Euro bigman plucked up off the streets of Rome, Barcelona, Belgrade, or Zagreb.

Now, it seems like the Timberwolves are doing him a huge favor. He’s getting a consistent 25 MPG per game for the first time in his career (aside from some stretches in Denver when the team was hit by injuries) and he’s producing in a way that will get GM’s across the league to take notice. Everybody’s always on the lookout for more shooting, and a 6’9″ guy shooting 48% on threes (no lie, that’s what he’s shooting with the Wolves right now) would be the theoretical solution to many teams’ spacing issues.

Tell me, what team wouldn’t want the Spanish Marvin Williams? Only the team that already has the American Marvin Williams, probably. And if the American Marvin Williams retires, that means that there will be thirty NBA teams competing to acquire Hernangomez’s services for four to ten million dollars per year.
