Okay, so Coby White wasn’t going to keep scoring thirty points in every game from now until the heat death of the universe when all atomical motion has halted. That just wasn’t realistic. I may or may not have gotten carried after White scored thirty in three straight games. Declarations may have been made which I now regret. I don’t really want to go back and check what I said.
However, 22 points is still pretty good. That puts White’s current streak of twenty-point games at four. I could see him scoring twenty or more points in every game from now until the end of the season, or at least most games. His role has gotten bigger (perhaps the first intelligent thing that Jim Boylen has done as coach of the Bulls), and I have no reason to see why his role would get smaller again, as the Bulls aren’t going to be eager to rush anybody back from injury or, like, bring on 10-day players to take away from the young players already on the roster.
Then again, it’s the Bulls, and I don’t trust them at all when it comes to properly developing/utilizing/evaluating players. They’re probably going to sign Kirk Hinrich and Nate Robinson to honorary/novelty contracts for the rest of the season and then Boylen’s going to get confused and give them both 36 MPG, thus decimating White’s role on the team.
