Kelly Olynyk 20 Points/1 Quarter Full Highlights (8/1/2020)

Jeff Van Gundy wonders audibly at the end of this video: did Kelly Olynyk outscore the entire Nuggets team by himself in the fourth quarter? (At the point this question was posed, Olynyk had dropped an even twenty points in eleven minutes of fourth-quarter blowout action.)

The answer is yes. And no. But mostly yes.

When KO delivered the KO via his fourth three-pointer of the quarter, giving him the twenty-burger, the Nuggets had only scored eighteen points in the quarter. So, at that specific point in time, Olynyk’s individual scoring efforts surpassed the collective, but ineffective, scoring efforts of whichever five Nuggets scrubs were on the court.

Then the Nuggets went on an 8-0 mini-run to end the game, and Olynyk’s notable achievement vanished into the void. But through my tireless investigative investigations, now written down in text format for posterity, Olynyk’s accomplishment will live on forever. He will always be the guy who heroically took his team’s fifteen-point lead in the final quarter of play and turned it into a 28-point lead.

I’m going to go check basketball-reference’s “Hall of Fame percentage” for this dude and if it’s anything lower than 50%, I’m going to call Interpol and have them seize all their servers.
