Gary Trent Jr. 21 Points/7 Threes Full Highlights (8/2/2020)

Gary Trent Jr. is in that intermediate stage of hair growth where the hair is long enough to be tied back, but not ALL of it is long enough to be tied back. So he’s got the ponytail going on in the back but then he’s got some insect antennae sticking out the front because there’s nothing else to do with it.

Speaking as a fellow long-haired man, the intermediate stage sucks. There’s really no good solution for hair at that length. My solution was just to let it fall in front of my face until it was long enough that all of it could go into a ponytail. I looked like a doofus for a while but the end result was satisfactory. Trent doesn’t have the luxury of looking like a doofus because there are millions of people scrutinizing his appearance every time he steps on the court. At least, I assume that’s what the viewers are doing. Maybe I’m projecting.

The fact that Trent’s hair is in dreadlocks complicates the situation because dreadlocks are less versatile than individual hair strands. Maybe he can get tips from fellow dread dudes like Taurean Prince on how to control those dreads because I am honestly no help at all. I’m just here to offer my sympathy and to elucidate the situation for those out there who have never dealt with the struggle of medium-length hair.
