Daniel Theis 23 Points Full Highlights (1/20/2021)

23 points might not seem like enough points for this new-and-improved epoch of DownToBuck highlightage, but once I reveal this interesting statistical tidbit to you, you will feel ashamed that you ever allowed such a blasphemous thought to form inside the withered blob of dying synapses that you charitably call your “brain”:

Daniel Theis’ 10-of-11 shooting performance from this game is one of the best scoring games so far this season, across the entire league.

From a field goal percentage perspective.

Nobody else has made more field goals with better accuracy. Thomas Bryant (RIP in peace homie) and Richaun Holmes are closest with identical 10-of-11 performances. Right about now, you should have the sense brewing within your loins that this video represents a critical part of NBA history. Because it does. Your loins do not lie to you.

Do I expect this record to get broken sometime this season? Absolutely. Last year we saw Hassan Whiteside go 13-of-14 in a game, and while I don’t expect Whiteside specifically to do that again (his career is in the toilet right now), I do expect Mitchell Robinson to go 11-of-11 in a game, as he did last season, as long as he doesn’t try to shoot any three-pointers. That said, Theis is leading the pack for now, which is why I felt compelled to make this video. Those who doubt my methods, which are eminently precise and unimpeachable, are welcome to take their eyeballs to another highlights channel.
