I guess it’s okay that Jahlil Okafor didn’t end up getting traded. Despite how much everyone from fans to owners to concessions workers to Joel Embiid hates him, it’s unlikely that he find a bigger role on another team than the one he has in Philly. Maybe the Lakers, but that’s about it.
It has been said over and over again: the type of player Okafor is doesn’t have much relevance in the modern NBA. No-defense big, blah blah blah, kills ball movement, yada yada, inefficient ball hog, whatever whatever. Not to mention his off-court escapades (the details of which can be found in last year’s “Jahlil Okafor all field goals” vids that I made). Everyone is in consensus: he kind of sucks.
And maybe he does, but who cares? I don’t. I care about one thing and one thing only: buckets. Okafor gets buckets, he doesn’t do anything else, but he can score the rock when you give it to him. That’s what basketball is. It’s buckets. Everything else is secondary, and Okafor has realized that.
