Nikola Jokic knows what’s up. He knows that if he wants to be one of the league’s premiere players, there is a certain skill that he needs to add to his game. And tonight, after working on it for months, he finally brought it out in a game situation, using it to lead the Nuggets to a near upset win over the Rockets. What is this newly-acquired technique, you ask?
Flopping.
Unfortunately, the Rockets decisively out-flopped Jokic tonight, showing that years of experience can make a big difference in the NBA. Ryan Anderson, practitioner of the flop, put on a beautiful display, surprisingly leading his team in that area instead of the highly-regarded flopmaster James Harden. It was still a great effort by Jokic, though. Sometimes you have to tip your hat and admit that you were bested.
