Maybe it’s best for Tyreke Evans if he forgets about the whole “acknowledging your teammates by passing them the ball” thing. It worked for Rubio tonight, it can definitely work for Evans for the rest of his career. A ball-handly player like him will always end up with a few assists almost by accident, but I think setting up other players should be a low priority compared to setting up Tyreke Evans. He can just stand behind the three point line, dribbling between his legs, until he decides to shoot it from there or do a crossover and get to the rim easily.
Man, when I put it that way, it sounds really good. I think my perception is clouded by how good he was this game, but I don’t care. Rookie-season Tyreke can make a comeback, and even though it seemed like everyone hated it the first time, people will like it now because the Grizzlies are a better organization than the Kings.
