Willie Cauley-Stein, through two games, is averaging 21.5 points per game on roughly 65% shooting. Even though it’s only two games, which the Kings both lost, those numbers look pretty good for a guy who was drafted to be a Tyson Chandler-esque defensive specialist. Luckily, stats for true defensive impact don’t exist, because WCS apparently doesn’t do much of the defense that he was drafted for. He just wants to show off his expanded repertoire of moves and skills.
That’s what Kings fans tell me, at least. And they don’t actually tell it to me. I infiltrate their online communities and observe them like a naturist conducting field studies on the reproductive habits of armadillos (pro tip: the ‘dillo’s wiener can not puncture the outer protective covering of the female ‘dillo). If Kings fans had some kind of physical gathering place or compound, I would infiltrate that as well, but they seem to limit their discourse to internet-based channels.
Right now I’m feeling like I should come up with a cool storyline for WCS because it seems to me that I’ll be making plenty of his vids this season. Ideas for funny storylines can be left in the comments.
