Nikola Mirotic’s blazing start is officially over. Games of 30 and 36 were followed by games of 18 and 10. Still a decent average, but not as decent as his average after two. It was fun while it lasted. We will never forget the night he helped the Pelicans almost drop a 150-burger in regulation.
Mirotic did have 25 tonight, a decent total that increases his average but could’ve been much be better. He had 15 in the first quarter alone, which leaves only 10 for the rest of the game. I didn’t actually watch this one (gotta watch my Bucks go undefeated), so I don’t know what happened, but Rudy Gobert was likely involved. Also Jahlil Okafor probably messed things up because that’s all he can do.
The Pelicans’ blazing start is also officially over, now that they’ve lost a game. It’s not fair to them, since Anthony Davis was out, but a loss is a loss, and just one loss means that any winning streaks you had are done. That’s how it works. They don’t call them winloss streaks, because if they did, every team would be on an indefinitely long one. Did I just blow your mind or what? Sometimes DownToBuck drops little pearls of wisdom for you peasants to scrounge for in the mud, and this is one of those times.
