I thought Luka Doncic was supposed to be injured, but he clearly played at least some minutes in this game (I challenge anybody to score 27 points in zero minutes of playing time – it’s simply not possible), so he must not be as injured as I assumed. You know that Rick Carlisle wouldn’t play an injured player for 31 minutes when there’s no playoff push to be making (and the player in question is the franchise cornerstone), so I’m just going to assume that Luka is totally healthy and there’s nothing wrong with him at all (other than still being a serious bricklayer from behind the arc).
It’s a bit perverse, but I was actually looking forward to not having to make any more Doncic highlights this season. He takes up a lot of my time (which could be spent on the scrubs who are really the focus of my channel – not borderline All-Stars like Lukadris), and I also ran into writer’s block with that series of descriptions where he was developing an addiction to Taco Bell food. I don’t plan things out very well when it comes to writing multi-part descriptions; luckily, I can abandon my work with few repercussions and resume work on it any time I want.
Perversity or no, Doncic’s eligibility for my channel will lapse at exactly the moment that the game clock runs to zero at the end of the Mavericks’ 82nd game. I feel like I should write him a poignant, heartfelt letter, but I’ll just settle for download a hi-res pic of him and hugging the monitor that it’s on.
