Tyler Herro 18 Points Full Highlights (11/25/2019)

I really prefer it when rookies like Tyler Herro are on teams that aren’t playoff-caliber. Teams like the Heat. For one thing, they don’t even need Herro; they’ve got Duncan Robinson, and even if they didn’t, they’ve got more than an enough talent to get by without a sweet-shooting rookie helping them along. And for another, they weren’t even supposed to be this good. They were supposed to be middling 8th seed-ish sludge like they have been for the past few years.

It wouldn’t help Herro’s efficiency stats, but him being on a team that either leaned on him for scoring or just straight up let him chuck without caring about anything (wins included) would be a lot more exciting for Herro-stans everywhere. In Miami, he takes a bunch of shots, but never a BUNCH of shots. If he was on a team like the Grizzlies, he’d be the number two option on offense and possibly scoring 17 per game on nothing but sick jumpers.

That might not be the best thing for his development either, maybe he’d pick up bad habits or whatever, but again, all I care about, literally all I care about, is him hitting as many jumpers as possible. The Heat might have one of the best team cultures in the league (when Dion Waiters isn’t busy cancering everything up with his cancery badness), and that’s great, but their culture could just be that much better if they told Herro that no shot was off limits and that he was playing 48 minutes a game starting now.
