George Hill suffers from the dreaded “Wilson Chandler-itis”: the life-threatening condition of having no fans at all, no, not even one. The prognosis is not good: unless he gains a few people who would be interested in his autograph, or who consider him a favored basketball player, he will retire in total anonymity, his name an uninteresting footnote in NBA history.
I don’t even like him, really. Was he good on the Spurs? Probably. Is he good now? Sure. He even got a triple double this year, after seeing how much more popularity Russell Westbrook got for the same. Needless to say, it didn’t help, and this 30 point performance won’t help either. He’s just doomed to obscurity forever.
Although, couldn’t we say the same for all of us? No matter how great or little our accomplishments, we are all equally destined to be forgotten as the universe continues its unending march to destruction.
