How much better can Hassan get, anyway? He’s so good right now, I’m finding it hard to see areas for improvement. He could start hitting free throws, maybe. Or add a midrange jumper game so he can pretend to be Chris Bosh. Give him some ball-handling duties, turn him into a point-center. Dunk from the three-point line? Now that I think about it, there are a lot of avenues he could take to get better.
But we should be happy with what he’s done this season, despite his lack of crossovers. I haven’t been paying much attention to race for the Most Improved Player award, is his name in the conversation? It should be. He’s a dub-dub machine with just enough crazy in him to make opposing players think “Maybe I’ll just let him score this time so he doesn’t kill me.”
