So what if a few bad (big) apples booed Kristaps Porzingis when he got drafted? They didn’t get Jahlil or Russell or anyone that they had heard of, so they booed. A totally understandable reaction. Who is to say that their opinion holds less or more weight than a more informed fan’s?
Besides, what if I told you that I booed the Jabari Parker pick when it happened? What would you say then? I really wanted Kyle Anderson, dammit. So I booed, I booed Adam Silver, John Hammond, and the whole of the NBA. I had an opinion, and I defended that opinion. That’s admirable, if anything.
I also booed when Lew Alcindor was picked first overall by the Bucks all the way back in ’69. Big tall uppity black dude? Hell no, I wanted white savior Larry Cannon. What a beast that guy was going to be. Things might not have turned out in my favor, but hell, it’s easy to turn face and start rooting for the guy you booed before. No one even has to know, and no one would, except I’m telling you right now.
In fact, the only Bucks pick I didn’t boo was Joe Alexander. I might have to reanalyze my self-appointed title of “Draft Expert”.
