After teasing us with relatively high-scoring games throughout the season, Ian “MANhinmi” Mahinmi finally accomplishes what we were all waiting for, a new career high. And the cool part is, he only needed eighteen shots to do it! Wait. Eighteen shots?
Yep. Before this game, his career high in field goal attempts was twelve. Twelve! He just upped his attempts by 50% and only scored two more points. All of a sudden this career high seems tainted. Like it shouldn’t even count. I mean, Stephen Curry’s high in FGA is 32. Imagine if he took 48 shots. Nobody would even be excited if he squeaked out a career high in points. That’s just too much shooting.
Okay, bad example. Everybody would be hyped about Curry shooting fifty shots in a game. But you get my point, right? I think we should start a petition to get Mahinmi’s point total revised down to something more reasonable. Maybe eight or nine points. That’s what he deserves for turning into a chucker for the first time in his career.
I’m also officially revoking his MANhinmi nickname. He doesn’t get to use it anymore.
