Rodrigue “French Kiss” Beaubois’ career has pretty much been on a downward slide since he had that 40 point game a couple years back. My opinion of him is still colored by that game, I think he should be getting more minutes even though he’s been pretty poor this year. At least he should get to play more than Mike James. Mike James is old and not going to get much better; Roddy has upside.
His slump is probably a confidence issue at this point. Imagine sitting on the bench while Mike James gets to start. More minutes and I think he would return to being a good scoring guard off the bench. Or not. I’m not an expert on sports psychology. But what I do know is that the Maverick’s win tonight was achieved in large part to Beaubois’ play at the start of the 4th quarter. And his sick slam at the end was the final nail in the coffin.
