It strikes me as a little bit crazy that Luc Richard “The Second Best NBA Player From Cameroon” Mbah a Moute’s career high is only 22 points. He’s been in the league for a long time now, he’s a wing player (that means guaranteed touches whether you want them or not), and he’s started his share of games. You would think that he would luck into a 25-point game at some point, but he hasn’t. He scored in the twenties four times while with the Bucks, but this is his first time doing it on a non-Bucks team.
That part also surprises me because his stint in Philadelphia was characterized by a newfound desire to score. Even with his relatively aggressive efforts to put points on the board that season, he only managed to get up to nineteen points in one game. I guess that drove home the point that he can only score opportunistically, and if he tries too hard to be too involved in the offense, his game falls apart.
Thus, I am forced to regretfully conclude that Luc Richard Mbah a Moute will never make it into the Hall of the Thirty Point Scorers.
