I’m going to be honest with you guys. When I heard that Anthony Davis was out 4-6 weeks with a fractured hand, I cried. For the first time in my life, I cried. I cried tears of mourning for the alley-oops that would never be; tears of sorrow for the displays of athleticism unperformed; tears of bitterness for the damage done to Davis’ MVP chances.
Then, he popped up in the box-score for last night’s Clips-Pels game. “Do my eyes betray me? Could it be?” I shouted. “Yes! Anthony Davis is back, and he already has, like, 10 points!” Then I felt stupid because I wasted all that crying on some injury that, apparently, wasn’t even that big a deal. So, from now on, no more crying. Even if Anthony Davis tears all the ligaments in both knees simultaneously.
