Anthony Randolph is in the doghouse. Again. For all this guy’s potential, he simply can’t find a team that will play him regular minutes. Every time he gets traded, that team’s fanbase thinks that they will be the ones to unlock his gifts and turn him into a good player. And every time they are disappointed.
It’s hard to justify playing a guy who turns it over a million times a game without giving you much playmaking. He likes to shoot jumpers but isn’t amazing at them. How long can we keep hyping this guy based off a few good Summer League performances? Not much longer, If anyone is in fact still hyping him at all.
19 points is nothing to sneeze at. And this is the first game in his career where he’s splashed multiple threes. Are the Nuggets just trying to up his trade value? I bet there are teams who would take him. Like the 76ers. Once they trade all their veterans they’re gonna need warm bodies, and Randolph definitely qualifies in that regard. Thad Young for Randolph and a couple second-rounders. Do it.
