You may think Otto Porter is merely a bust who was a total reach in the draft, but the actuality is that he’s been told to perform poorly in order to surprise playoff opponents. 7th and deciding game, series on the line, and Porter busts out and scores 40 without anyone suspecting a thing until it’s too late. Of course, he has to get warmed a bit first so he’s been playing a few minutes and scoring a little bit so he can be at full effectiveness. Ernie Grunfeld is a true basketball savant.
Wow, I just read what I wrote in that last paragraph and damn, I sound like an insane person. Disregard that whole theory. It’s crazy. Just like the Wizards were for drafting this dude 3rd overall. It’s definitely early to break out the labeler and put “bust” on his forehead, but Otto had been a pretty large disappointment so far.
