After two years of suffering with “best player on a bad team” syndrome, and one year of “second-best player on a mediocre team” syndrome, Gerald Henderson found himself rejected from the Hornets lineup. This was just the second thirty-minute game that Hendo got this year, after averaging thirty minutes per game last year. Is this playing-time reduction due to his love of turnarounds, faders, and otherwise difficult-to-hit shots? Probably. Is it also due to his being the only shooting guard in the NBA who can’t hit threes? Also probably.
I’ve long been curious how Gerald would look on a good team (last year’s Bobcats don’t count) and I’m still waiting to find out. Eternal is my curse.
