New theory: perhaps the reason why Cody “Zody” Zeller has looked like a bust most of his career is because he played with a point guard who didn’t want to pass (Kemba Walker). Now that he gets to play for a while with a more effective ball-distributor in Mo Williams, he starts to look like a legit starter.
If he could just be a little more aggressive in demanding the ball like Al Jefferson does, then we probably would be seeing even more of this kind of stuff out of Zody. There’s a little-known NBA rule where if you’re a lottery pick, you get to ask for the ball and your teammates have to give it to you. Zody should invoke that rule more often.
