Nerlens “Knurly” Noel has been as advertised in his rookie season. He dunks. He blocks. He jumps around like he’s made out of pogo sticks.
This is good. It reinforces confidence in the ability of NBA teams to scout draft prospects. If he came in and performed sick crossovers leading to three pointers while playing no defense, I would be concerned not just for Noel, but for the whole NBA draft apparatus.
Which leads me to my point: now that Nerlens is firmly entrenched in what he can and cannot do, it’s time for him to bust out the crossovers leading to three pointers. Just have him watch some Jamal Crawford highlights, but him in a gym for a bit with the instructions to replicate what he just saw, and we should be in for fun times in Philadelphia.
