I love Khris Middleton, yet, paradoxically, I also hate Khris Middleton. He is playing so well on such a small contract. Next year, he’ll probably play just as well, except we’ll be paying him roughly twenty times as much money. How is that fair? Players should just get paid for every point they score. That way, everything is fair.
There are no downsides to my plan. I dare you to tell me what could go wrong in such a scenario, because I fail to see how that does anything other than make sure that people like Khris Middleton are paid fair market value for their contributions on the court, and malingerers like Kobe Bryant don’t collect anything for sitting out with phantom injuries.
