Ben “Easy Mac” McLemore is the same player he was his rookie year. Just way better. Well, maybe not “way” better. He’s improved, definitely, though he’s still not as good as he can probably be. It just goes to show, even the biggest bustiest scrubbiest rookie can turn things part-way around just by the natural order of things. He was bound to start shooting better than 38% from the field, given his smooth release.
I’m not going to go back and find specific instances, but I’m pretty sure I called him a bust a bunch of times last year. I apologize. I can get caught up in the heat of the moment sometimes, a victim of the present. A scrub one game can turn into an All-Star the next. McLemore’s not an All-Star yet, or even close to it, but a bust he is no longer.
