Last year, the Kawhi Leonard for George Hill was looking pretty stupid. Leonard was the Finals MVP and Hill was fourth fiddle on the Pacers. The trade is still unbalanced, but it has been downgraded from a “highway robbery” to a “purse snatching”. George Hill looks like he can lead his team (a team which is all of sudden playing really well with him starting, despite Paul George being out…hmmm….), whereas we’re still waiting to see if Leonard can be the leader of his own team (Tim Duncan is almost dead, right?)
Maybe I’m feeling good about George Hill because he’s assisting the ball well this year; in past years, I accused him of being a tweener guard, an accusation which I will not recant just yet. Let’s wait and see if he’s actually a point guard now or if he just happens to be getting a lot of assists for no reason.
