By missing two threes in the same possession to tie the game in the third overtime, Khris “Khash Money” Middleton probably cost himself a million or so per year on his next contract. Having such huge amounts of clutchness on your resume is like a one-way ticket to getting paid. While he was clutch for most of the first overtime and for a part of the third, his clutchness did not result in a win, so nobody will remember it. They’ll just remember Joe Johnson falling over while shooting a three to tie the game.
That’s okay by me. I definitely do not want Khris Middleton getting paid like Joe Johnson, unless it’s the Nets doing it, because I love seeing them get hamstrung by handing out/trading for bloated contracts.
