Mike Dunleavy is a perfect example of why you don’t call a player a bust after only a few years in the league. That doesn’t stop everyone from doing it (including me), but let the record show that there exists at least one example of a player improving as he plays longer in the NBA.
I am having a hard time coming up with another example, though.
Anyway, defying expectations, Manleavy has managed to carve out a nice niche for himself despite being white and a Dookie. He was a valuable part of some Pacers teams a while back, and was also sneaky good for the Bucks. He’s getting a little old now, as evidenced by his embarrassing lack of athleticism, but he still remains a key-ish part of the Bulls half-success this season.
