I, for one, don’t even want Andre Drummond to develop a post game. What good are a few crappy jump-hooks per game? He should be focusing all his effort on improving only one area of his game: dunking the basketball.
Admittedly, this is a skill he already has a high level of proficiency at. But he could always be better. Instead of posting up somebody and shooting the ball over them, why not maneuver YOUR ENTIRE BODY (including the ball which is in your hand) over them, and score in that manner? Just turn around and jump above them (think Vince over Weis) and dunk it. Got the ball outside the three-point line? Just take one dribble inside and then rise up for a jam from 18 feet out.
He’s not going to be able to do these things if he doesn’t practice. I think we can all agree, that the moves outlined above would be far superior to any lame up-and-under he could pull off.
