Scott Skiles 31 Points/10 Assists Full Highlights (1/16/1993)

Every NBA fans knows about Scott Skiles due to his holding of a very prominent NBA record. I could make a joke about it being “most illegitimate children sired”, but I won’t, because I’m a classy dude who shows respect for the greats of the NBA. Similar classiness is expected in the comment section.

Skiles’ record-setting 30 assist game is a remarkable feat of passing wizardry, one which is not likely to be broken by this current crop of NBA players at the current pace of play. You can talk all you want about “inflated numbers” and “playing against one of those crazy Nuggets teams” and “Greg Kite” but the fact remains that 30 separate buckets directly produced by the actions of an unpigmented midget from Indiana is 99% bananas.

What you may not know (well, you do if you read the vid title) is that while Skiles once had thirty assists in a game, he surpassed that feat by scoring THIRTY-ONE points in a single contest. Why this gets no attention is beyond me. The raw stats clearly show that 31 is 1 more than 30.

Who really cares if you passed the ball to your teammates to score points? All that means is that you were too weak to do the scoring yourself. For instance, take a look at MJ’s performance this game. He chucked the rock 49 times for 64 points, and only tallied one assist. That’s balls right there. Big cojones. We know who the alpha dog on that Bulls team was.
