Peja Stojakovic 39 Points Full Highlights (2/23/2001)

In an effort to become more relevant to my subscriber base, I’ve been doing some research on what makes the biggest names in sports punditry so big. In the course of my research I have discovered that one of the things they do is painstakingly craft and then broadcast what are known as “hot takes”.

Now, this kind of surprises me. It seems, based on my newfound understanding of “hot takes”, that I say them all the time! It’s my modus operandi. John Wall is a bust? Hot take. Andre Miller is a top 10 PG of all time? Ditto. Seattle deserved to have their team taken away because they are a crappy fanbase? Hottest take ever. Anthony Morrow is just as good as Klay Thompson except that he hasn’t been made a focal point of an offense? In the immortal words of Nelly, it’s getting hot in herre.

So when I say that Peja Stojakovic belongs in the HOF, that’s not even really that hot of a take. Everyone thinks that, right? And not just the legions of Yugoslavian homers who worship at his altar. He’s one of the best three-ballers the league has ever seen, had a distinguished international career, and was a rock-solid scoring threat night in and night out. Even a neutral NBA fan can see the immense value that he brought to the Kings in his prime. Right?

Right.
