Thunder fans got a little taste tonight of the future that awaits them when Kevin Durant leaves for Milwaukee (What a twist! You thought I was gonna say DC, didn’t you? I have my sources). And it tasted good. Tasted like buckets.
Dion Waiters is surely ready to step into the hole that Durant will leave with his departure. He might not fill the hole up all the way despite his pudginess, actually a good comparison would be a midget stepping into a coal mine, but still. He would at least fill it up a bit. Better than Morrow or Singler.
Can we expect 25 points a night from Waiters in a soon-to-be-not-very-hypothetical-at-all Durantless future? Judging by his performance tonight, yes. Judging by his other performances this year, no. Do you believe in small sample sizes or not?
