Tyler Johnson: the white Derrick Rose?
Yes! Their games are eerily similar. Rose is the superior athlete, but not by much, and Tyler can use his athleticism to stunning affect when given the opportunity. They shoot the ball in kind of the same way, using a lot of leg to get a high release. They both can dunk in-game not on the fast break; this is an underrated similarity, since a lot of point guards really can’t.
Keep in mind that I’m using current Derrick Rose for the comparison, not MVP Derrick Rose. Which means that Tyler is probably having the better season of the two, and will continue to until Derrick’s eye grows back.
