Nothing pisses me off more than home commentators chuckling patronizingly when one of their lesser skilled players does good things. The Spurs commentators did it last year with Boban Marjanovic, and it’s happening again with the Mavs and Salah Mejri. Just because he’s somewhat awkward looking and doesn’t usually score more than a handful of points doesn’t mean you can just sit there and chuckle after he dunks another one on the befuddled 76ers.
I lied about nothing pissing me off more. That was hyperbole. I wanted to make a point. It’s actually the thing that pisses me off most except for one thing: drivers who brake for no reason in the flow of traffic. That and patronizing chuckling are #1 and #2 on the list of things that grind my gears. Everything else that could possibly piss me off, ranging from life-altering catastrophes to trivial annoyances, falls behind those two things.
If you can ignore the infuriating “commentary”, Salah Mejri had a great game tonight. Aside from dunking the heck out of the ball, he rebounded the heck out of the ball, grabbing a career-high 17 boards. I could’ve shown them, but it would’ve really diluted the incredible potency of these dunks.
