Willy Hernangomez 16 Points Full Highlights (2/1/2017)

Willy Hernangomez: the savior of Spaniards in the NBA? The Gasol brothers only have a few years left and somebody needs to step up to the plate to represent Spain over here in the states. The savior was supposed to be Ricky Rubio but he still can’t shoot, and if he never develops that skill it’s hard to see how he’ll be a star in this league.

Alex Abrines? ROFLCOPTERS. The other Hernangomez? ROFLWAFFLES. Willy Hernangomez is showing that he has the talent necessary to succeed the Gasols, and he’ll even do it in the same way: by being a skilled (some would say “finesse”) big man with an outside shot. There’s still a long way for him to go to get to that level, but Spaniards need someone to pin their hopes to, and they probably already gave up on everybody else from their country unless there’s some exciting home-grown prospect that I don’t know about.

Things are looking up for Willy as he gets more and more trust from Hornacek. Now, he gets to close out games while Joakim Noah pretends to be happy on the bench. Here’s where I talk about Noah’s contract in relation to Hernangomez and all Knicks fans get triggered.
