Does Marquese “Markweezy” Chriss have any kind of in-between game at all? I know it’s a lot to ask for a rookie to be well-rounded in all areas of scoring, but I don’t remember him ever taking much less making a midrange jumpshot, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him post up or attempt a hook shot either. It’s either he shoots a three, he gets assisted for something near the basket, or he’s flying through the air for a tip-in. Those are all good things, but maybe for the last month of the season he can try out some of that other stuff just to see how it works out.
I’m pretty sure he managed to make it through this game without getting into a scuffle with anybody, but, then again, I didn’t watch this game so there might be scuffles I was not aware of. One of Chriss’ shortcomings is he has a short temper when he thinks that somebody boxed him out too hard or accidentally hits him, but it’s also not a shortcoming because if basketball is ever going to compete with hockey in terms of viewership numbers, there need to be more fights, and they need to be more vicious than ever because in hockey they give you a weapon to use, but in basketball you only have your fists and maybe the ball.
