After getting 4 blocks in the first 4 minutes of the game, Ivica “Zuu” Zubac failed to notch another one for the rest of the game. What a disappointment. Obviously his 1 block per minute rate was unsustainable. Obviously. But I was at least hoping for 1 block every 2 minutes, which is not unreasonable. Had he pulled that off, which was totally within his abilities, he would have finished with 11 blocks in 18 minutes, instead of the paltry 4 he ended up with.
As I said, a disappointment. What better way to celebrate Timofey Mozgov’s unceremonious benching than with a double-double for Zuu? Heck, I bet if he had gotten the 11 blocks he would’ve tried extra hard to get the 10 rebounds for a triple-double. Take that Russell Westbrook! Not all of us need to statpad to get triple-doubles! Alas. All this is speculation because Zubac didn’t even want to help his team win by denying shots at the rim.
