While Brook Lopez hits game-winners, Robin Lopez hits Serge Ibaka. If you haven’t seen the video of the Lopez/Ibaka throwdown, this vid can wait. I’m sure one of those channels pretending to be Ximo has it uploaded by now. Go on. It’s okay. These Brook Lopez highlights will still be there when you get back, though they may become slightly lackluster, since they don’t involve him punching anybody except for Stan Van Gundy in the nuts.
I was happy to see that his buzzer-beating game-winner was a midrange look. He still does the floaters and hooks from a little closer, but his true midrange game has almost disappeared this year in favor of threes. It makes sense, because he obviously has the range, but I miss the no-jump jumpers from the elbows. Those seemed like normal shots for him, unlike the threes, which are still jarring to me every time he puts one up.
If I were in charge of the NBA, I would make a rule that says players can’t add things to their game because it makes me mad and confused.
