Kyle Korver just saved the Cavaliers from another embarrassing loss. The Knicks aren’t even good, as far as I can tell, but they went up big and looked to be cruising until Mr. Fourth Korver showed up and kicked them squarely in the nads/groinal area. Repeatedly. With great force. I actually feel sort of bad for New York after this one. Like, the whole state. First the Bills losing a million straight Super Bowls, now this. Gee willickers.
If Korver hadn’t made those two lame free throws with seven seconds left in the third, he would have had the much more impressive distinction of having scored all his points in the final quarter. That’s when people start actually trying (unless it’s a blowout, in which case it’s like layup lines), and it means that Korver gets going in high-pressure situations. An admirable trait, and a trait that lends itself well to his new nickname.
